About Us

Robert Hunt is the Artistic Director and co-founder of The Jacob Theatre, which he launched alongside Managing Executive Director Tiffany Ball with a shared vision of creating bold, meaningful, and artistically excellent theatre in Evansville. With almost 40 years of experience as a professional actor, director, choreographer, music director, and educator, Robert’s career has spanned Broadway, national tours, Carnegie Hall, and acclaimed regional theatres across the country. His directing work includes productions of The Fantasticks, Kiss Me, Kate, Les Misérables (Drammy Award winner), Next to Normal, Mean Girls, and many more. As an actor, he has appeared on Broadway and national tours in Les Misérables, South Pacific, and Forever Plaid, among others. The Jacob Theatre was created to contribute to the area’s theatre community. We aim to create professional, intimate storytelling for our community and to build a home for artists and audiences alike. If you believe in live theatre, we hope you’ll help us grow—tell your friends, bring someone new, and spread the word. Word of mouth is still the greatest advertising, and your support helps keep the magic alive.
